Arvind is a global technology leader who is passionate about the intersection of Digital Innovation, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability. He brings together 20 years of experience developing new markets, launching new businesses, executing high growth partnerships and M&A projects and leading successful teams to drive transformational growth in private and public sector markets.
Arvind is a Managing Director at Cisco, where he leads growth initiatives for the $13B Public Sector organization. His responsibility includes; driving cybersecurity and critical infrastructure engagements with city, state and national governments and, creating innovative business and financing models to scale digital transformational projects in the healthcare, education, transportation, and smart city verticals. Previously, he led the Smart Cities global business development organization and helped grow this business to number one in market share and had roles executing venture investments, acquisitions and strategic alliances for Cisco’s $10B services and solutions business. Arvind is on the advisory board of fast-growing Internet of Things startups, World Sensing and Urbanise (ASX), and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the New Cities Foundation. Arvind was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2018 for his pioneering work on the Smart Cities industry and innovation in sustainability.
Arvind is a passionate speaker on topics related to the Internet of Things, Smart Cities, smart regulation, and big data, and has spoken at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, IoT World Forum in London & Dubai and the World Economic Forum AMNC meetings in Tianjin and Dalian. He has contributed to articles for The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Finance, The Atlantic, The New York Times, Fortune, ZDNet, Harvard Business School Alumni Magazine and L’Atelier.
Arvind has undergraduate and master’s degrees in computer science and finance from the University of New South Wales and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. In 2019, Arvind completed the Harvard John F. Kennedy School’s Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century Program.
