Colin Lowenberg is a senior wireless engineer and technology consultant at Imagine Wireless with over 15 years of product management experience in the wireless industry. During the recent COVID-19 crisis, Colin is also working on Coalition Network to stop the spread of the virus affecting the world. Coalition launched a privacy-first proximity-based contact tracing mobile app that leverages Bluetooth to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Before Imagine Wireless, Colin was Accenture’s Chief Wireless Architect and led the development and deployment of a wireless gas detection solution to protect oil workers in hazardous environments. At Cisco, Colin launched the best-selling Meraki MR33 Wi-Fi access point, and managed new programs to shift Cisco Meraki’s focus to API-first engineering and network programmability. After launching “Meraki as a platform” to create the Cisco Meraki developer community, he trained a new team of BDMs and Solution Architects to support a new technology partnership program building new relationships with integration partners including Yelp WiFi, Facebook WiFi, and Zenreach.
After launching the Meraki App Marketplace, Colin left the networking industry briefly to become a cofounder of a startup delivering animal-assisted therapy – Dogtime Community – by matching long-term care facilities, schools, and companies with therapy dogs on demand. The company grew quickly and now has a database of over 5,000 dog owners and has provided 2,000 successful therapy sessions in San Francisco, Montreal, and Toronto.
Colin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, more recently attended YCombinator Startup School, and now lives in San Francisco, California.
